Mr Alegre has a degree in Economics from the University of Barcelona. Since 2012 Joan has been General Manager of Ediciones Primera Plana which publishes El Periódico de Catalunya.  He is not only responsible for the global growth of the company but also for the marketing, the distribution (General Manager of Logística de Medios) and the printing of the newspaper (General Manager of Gráficas de Prensa Diaria). Previously, he was the Executive Director of the newspaper Ara, General Manager at Planet Digital Media, General Manager of all the newspapers of Grupo Zeta and Marketing Director of the daily newspaper Sport.
